There has been a significant rise in migrant trafficking cases over the last five years, prosecutor Sava Petrov of the International Department of the Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office (SCPO) said on Thursday. While there were relatively few acquittals, most persons brought to trial for migrant trafficking offences end up with suspended sentences.
