site.bta4,162 New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed, Positivity Rate Stands at 22.56%

March 20 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 299,939 after 18,449 tests identified 4,162 new infections on Friday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day was 22.56 per cent.

Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 1,162 positive tests, followed by Bourgas Region with 331 cases and Varna Region with 325.

Nationwide, the active cases are 54,411. Hospitalized patients currently number 8,332, including 689 in intensive care.

Another 1,555 patients recovered from COVID-19 o nFriday, and 115 new fatalities were reported.

With 6,669 new inoculations onFriday, 362,721 doses of vaccine against the coronavirus have been administered in aggregate so far. RI/VE
