The German leg of a Western Europe roadshow highlighting the Bulgarian tourist sector began in Berlin on Monday and continued in Leipzig on Tuesday. The next stops are Munich, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Senior Bulgarian tourism executives are discussing future cooperation with potential German partners.

The Western Europe roadshow follows a marketing tour of Poland, held in late 2022, which was described by Bulgarian tourist industry professionals as very useful.

The current meetings in Germany have been organized by the Tourism Ministry in Sofia and the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance (BBSA) in collaboration with the Aviareps marketing company. The Bulgarian delegation includes the Tourism Attache at the Bulgarian Embassy in Berlin, Tihomir Patarinski, and BBSA Management Board Chairman Frank Quante, who is also CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, which operates the two international airports on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, at Varna and Burgas.

During the upcoming visit to Frankfurt, Bulgaria will be advertised as a travel destination on 62 screens at the city's main airport.

Fraport said Germany is a traditional source market for the Bulgarian tourist industry and has the largest potential in this field as the war in Ukraine rages on. The ongoing roadshow gives Bulgarian businesspeople a chance to establish new direct contacts with potential German partners in the areas with the greatest potential for Bulgaria travel.

BBSA was set up in July 2021 to help upgrade tourist services along the Bulgarian coastline. Its members are airport operators, hoteliers, tourism companies, air carriers, municipalities and NGOs.
