Sofia, July 21 (BTA) - Addressing the new Bulgarian Parliament
during its inaugural meeting here on Wednesday, Movement for
Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Mustafa Karadayi said that the
election results demonstrated clearly the will of the people for
a change. "This change goes through dialogue and the necessary
concessions in the name of the big goal, which is dignified life
for every Bulgarian national," Karadayi said.
In his words, the change also goes through political wisdom,
statesmanly thinking and conduct, and expertise.
Karadayi said that the option whereby a minority government
leads Bulgaria out of the crisis is viable on one condition only
 - responsible conduct, long-term vision, mutual respect and
dialogue.
The MRF leader wished success to the MPs but warned that
Bulgaria "cannot afford a new period of timelessness". He urged
all parties to show responsibility "to the future of Bulgaria".
"The Bulgarians are exhausted from elections and demonstrations
of helplessness hidden behind arrogant behaviour," Karadayi
said.
"The success requires sacrifices and we all must be ready for
them. The reforms require much more trust than what the election
results yielded," he said. Karadayi argued that this can be
achieved through consensus between ruling entities and
opposition in Parliament on the basis of dialogue and mutual
respect.
"As some ponder and comment which of the future cabinets or
which party has links with the MRF, we in the MRF are working to
ensure that a government is formed, that Bulgaria starts to
emerge from the crisis," Karadayi said.
"We in the MRF are not focused on conjectures, we are not
seeking nor creating plots, not expecting and not wanting power
for the sake of power," the MRF leader said.
At the start of his statement, Karadayi greeted the Muslims in
Bulgaria with the Eid-al-Adha holiday.
The MRF has 29 MPs in the 240-seat National Assembly. ZH
