The national leadership of the right-wing political party Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), which is part of the Democratic Bulgaria coalition, discussed the results of the early parliamentary elections on October 2 and the current political situation in the country at a meeting held on October 6 (Thursday).
The DSB proposes to its partners from Democratic Bulgaria to take a joint decision of the coalition not to participate in negotiations for forming a government on election winner GERB-UDF’s mandate. The DSB pointed out that Democratic Bulgaria, which ranked sixth in the elections and will be represented in the new parliament, was created as an alliance with the main goal of removing GERB from power and implementing reforms ensuring the rule of law.
"At the same time, concerned about the national interest, for the sake of finding a way out of the political crisis, we propose that GERB-UDF return the first mandate as a gesture of national responsibility and the assumption of political guilt for their governance for more than a decade. Then they should support the formation of a government on the mandate of Continue the Change," the DSB said.
