November 11 (BTA) - St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo partners with six Bulgarian and foreign universities, opening six new Master's degree programmes, project managers at Veliko Tarnovo University told journalists.

"Innovative education in the humanities and social sciences through digital transformation and modernization of the curricula" is a joint project between
Veliko Tarnovo University, Sofia University, Southwestern University in Blagoevgrad, Gabrovo Technical University, as well as three universities in Greece, Poland and Romania. The project has a total value of 4.175 million leva under the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth 2014 - 2020", co-financed by the European Social Fund of the European Union.

The new programmes will be in the professional fields of philology, history and archaeology, social activities, social communications, and information sciences, project manager Maria Ilcheva noted.

759 university students, 300 lecturers and 55 doctoral students and young researchers are taking part in the project.

The partnership will increase the quality of the learning process, improve the digitalization level of teaching of humanities and social sciences, which will contribute to the introduction of flexible methods of hybrid and joint learning, project coordinator Milko Palangurski said.

The project's main goal is to contribute to the correspondence between the supply and demand of highly educated specialists in the humanities and social sciences.
