site.btaBulgarian Exports Increased by 22.4% in January-September 2021

November 12 (BTA) - In January-September 2021, Bulgarian
exports amounted to 49,468.9 million leva which was 22.4 per
cent higher compared to the same period in 2020, according to
preliminary data by the National Statistical Institute released
here on Friday. In September alone, exports amounted 5,975.6
million leva, increasing by 22.3 per cent compared to the same
month a year ago.

In January-September 2021, Bulgarian imports amounted to
54,871.9 million leva (at CIF prices) which was 26 per cent
higher compared to the same period in 2020. In September 2021
alone, imports amounted 6,590.0 million leva, increasing by 22.9
 per cent compared to September 2020.

The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) was
negative during the period January - September 2021 and amounted
 to 5,403.0 million leva. In September 2021, the total foreign
trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) was also negative and
amounted to 614.4 million leva.

In January-September 2021 the export of goods from Bulgaria to
third countries increased by 20.3 per cent compared to the same
period of 2020 and amounted to 16,727.4 million leva. In
September 2021, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third
countries increased by 18.8 per cent compared to the same month
of the previous year and amounted to 2,029.8 million leva.

Imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries in
January-September 2021 increased by 27.2 per cent compared to
the same period in 2020 and amounted to 21,685.0 million leva
(at CIF prices). In September 2021, the imports of goods to
Bulgaria from third countries increased by 16.2 per cent
compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to
2,429.8 million leva.

The foreign trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) of
Bulgaria with third countries in January-September 2021 was
negative and amounted to 4,957.6 million leva. In September
2021, the foreign trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) with
 third countries was also negative and amounted to 400.0 million
 leva.

In January-August 2021 the export of goods from Bulgaria to the
EU increased by 23.5 per cent compared to the same period of
2020 and amounted to 28,795.7 million leva. In August 2021,
exports to the EU increased by 26.6 per cent compared to the
same month of the previous year and amounted to 3,537.5 million
leva.

Imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU in the period
January-August 2021 increased by 25 per cent compared to the
same period in 2020 and amounted to 29,026.7 million leva (at
CIF prices). In August 2021 the imports to Bulgaria from EU
Member States increased by 23 per cent compared to the same
month of the previous year and amounted to 3,475.0 million leva.

The foreign trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) of
Bulgaria and the EU in the period January-August was negative
and amounted to 231.0 million leva, according to preliminary
data of the National Statistical Institute. RY/KK
