Institute for Social Surveys and Marketing: Seven Parties Will Probably Be Represented in 43rd National Assembly
Sofia, October 2 (BTA) - Seven parties will probably enter the
next Parliament: GERB, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the
Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), the Reformist Bloc,
Bulgaria without Censorship, the Patriotic Front and Ataka,
according to the Institute for Social Surveys and Marketing
headed by Miroslava Radeva. "The emerging configuration augurs
further political instability," the sociologists comment.
Fifty-five per cent of the eligible voters actually present in
Bulgaria will most probably cast ballots on October 5, according
to a nationally representative survey conducted by the
Institute on September 27 and 28. This means that 3,400,000
Bulgarians will go to the polls.
The Institute forecasts that GERB will get 36.1 per cent of the
votes cast, BSP Left Bulgaria 18.6 per cent, the MRF 16.3 per
cent, the Reformist Bloc 6.6 per cent, Bulgaria without
Censorship 4.8 per cent, the Patriotic Front 4.8 per cent, Ataka
4.6 per cent, and ABV 2.8 per cent.
With seven parties in Parliament, GERB would be allocated 97
seats, BSP Left Bulgaria 49, the MRF 42, the Reformist Bloc 17,
Bulgaria without Censorship and the Patriotic Front 13 each, and
Ataka 12. If there are six political forces in the National
Assembly, GERB would have 100 seats, BSP Left Bulgaria 51, the
MRF 45, the Reformist Bloc 18, and Bulgaria without Censorship
and the Patriotic Front 13 each.
