Bulgaria without Censorship Ready to Give up "Many Justifiable Demands"
during Talks with GERB


Sofia, October 16 (BTA) - In a statement for the press a day
ahead of government formation talks with GERB, Bulgaria without
Censorship (BwC) said Thursday that they are ready to give up
"many of their justified demands" in the name of a stable
majority in the new Parliament and a working government.

The winning party in the October 5 early parliamentary
elections, GERB, is holding consultations with the other
parliamentary parties in a bid to secure a stable majority in
the new National Assembly. GERB alone will have 84 seats in the
240-seat legislature.

"Electricity users, agricultural producers and Corpbank clients
will not stand much longer the chaos in the State. The coming
winter and the foreign debt maturity will hardly care about
political vanity," the statement goes.

BwC says that they are going to the talks with GERB with the
sincere wish to see the future government enjoy the broadest
possible parliamentary support which it needs to carry through
vital reforms. "At the same time, more parties supporting the
government mean lower corruption risk and less opportunity for
one party or individual MPs to blackmail the future government."


BwC also say that they felt hurt by some remarks heard during
the Wednesday talks between GERB and the Reformist Bloc (RB).

RB representatives said that BwC is a product of a political
model that Bulgaria needs to part with, and that it should stay
out of the next government along with the Socialists and the
Movement for Rights and Freedoms.

BwC commented Thursday that it is preposterous to name them as a
model of political corruption considering that the parties and
individuals in the coalitions have never been in the government
before.

"GERB will have our support based on the broadest possible
similarity of platform and they will never hear from us, 'We
will play with your but you will have to dump the other bad
playmates'," the statement goes.
