Energy Efficiency Measures Will Be Fully Covered under OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020

Sofia, December 10 (BTA) - The energy efficiency measures for
the residential sector will be financed with 180 million euro by
OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020, Deputy Regional Development
Minister Denitsa Nikolova said Wednesday during the OP's first
Monitoring Committee, quoted by her Ministry's press centre.

These funds will be used to fully finance the retrofitting works
for all multi-household buildings, except for pre-fabricated
and large-area formwork buildings. The renovation of buildings,
constructed this way, will be financed by the State budget,
Nikolova explained.

According to her, owners will not co-finance their buildings'
renovation during the new programming period. The national
programme for retrofitting residential buildings is fully
financed by the OP and the national budget.

A procedure is developed, which will allow for the additional 25
per cent of co-financing expected from owners to be covered by
the national budget. This is true for owners who are already
participating in the project for energy retrofitting of
Bulgarian homes, therefore there will not be unequal treatment
of beneficiaries, Nikolova said.

The priority axis of OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020, under which
projects of the 28 small towns will be implemented, will be
financed under specific conditions. It must be clear what type
activities will be financed with the 90 million euro under the
axis and what type of problems will be solved with this money.
The measures must also comply with European Commission
requirements and regulations, the Deputy Minister added.
