Reformist Bloc Co-floor Leader Zelenogorski: There Is a
Political Crisis, but Not the Kind to
Destroy the Parliamentary Majority

Pleven, North Bulgaria, December 22 (BTA) - There was tension in
the coalition - this was and is a political crisis, but not the
crisis which will destroy the majority (in Parliament), said
Reformist Bloc Co-floor leader Nayden Zelenogorski here on
Monday, commenting, in his words, the "so called pension
reform".

The Reformist Bloc does not doubt its participation in the
parliamentary majority, but would hope that in the future such
strategic for the State decisions will be made after discussions
are held within the coalition between GERB and the Bloc,
followed by discussions with the supporting partners from the
Patriotic Front and ABV, he added. According to Zelenogorski,
the Prime Minister's proposal to "clear up" the things dividing
the Reformist Bloc and GERB over the adopted changes to the
pension system, is smart, while the comprehensive pension reform
should be clarified by the end of March. If it is determined
that private pension funds are not controlled effectively, the
legislation could be changed in that regard, he said, adding
that he has an idea to legally define the fee of such funds.

Zelenogorski commented the adopted state budget by saying that
this is the last non-reformist budget for which the Bloc votes.
The Reformist Bloc's position about the decentralization of
municipalities is another topic he discussed. According to him,
this process must be restarted. The MP also voiced his support
for speeding up the projects for the Hemus Motorway, the tunnel
under the Shipka Pass and the Sofia-Vidin road. The project for
building the tunnel seems utopian and expensive, but this is not
the case, because 130 million euro is not that much money for
building another good connection between South and North
Bulgaria, Zelenogorski said. PK/MY
