Bulgaria's Enchantment, Its People and Friends Keep Bringing British Actor Guy Siner Back

Sofia, August 6 (BTA) - The enchantment felt for Bulgaria, the people and the friends, are what drove Guy Siner to come back for the third time, the American-born British actor, who is mostly known for his role in the 'Allo 'Allo! comedy series, told BTA in a video interview.

Asked what makes the show "'Allo 'Allo!" so popular and widely loved all over the world, Siner said that comedy is a universal language and by making people laugh, they take you into their hearts and into their homes. "It doesn't really matter what the scenario and the story line are, although "'Allo 'Allo!" has a particular kind of story line, which draws people in. The war happened to all of us and was a very serious thing. Emotion recollected in tranquility, as we say, being able to look back on it from a distance, we can laugh and that's a wonderful thing, because humour as well as being a universal language is a great healer," he said.

Asked if the "'Allo 'Allo!" cast meet nowadays, Siner said they are tremendously close, because they worked together day in and day out for ten years. Friendships have remained, maybe half a dozen of the cast, who are still alive, are dear, dear friends, he noted.

Guy Siner is now producing and acting in a new war horror film, which is expected to be released at the end of next year. "Producing movies is like herding cats, but slowly, we are getting there, we're pretty close and hoping to shoot this coming winter," Siner said of the upcoming film. His fans will be able to see him in a completely new light, as he will play the role of a wicked villain and not a comedian. Siner explained, however, that regardless of his popular image as a comedian, throughout his acting career he had played more drama than comedy roles. "I think it will be great fun for the public, who know me for comedy, to see me do something completely different. I am an actor, that's what I do. I act and play all kinds of different roles and become all kinds of different people. Becoming someone else and living in a different person's body is part of the joy of what I do. It's a wonderful thing. I love my job!," Siner says.
