Direct Investments in First Half of 2015 Reach Close to EUR 800 Mln
Sofia, August 17 (BTA) - According to preliminary data, foreign
direct investment in Bulgaria, compiled according to the
directional principle, amounted to 799.6 million euro (1.9 per
cent of GDP) in the first half of 2015, the Bulgarian National
Bank said in a Monday press release.
This translates into a growth of 49.7 million euro (1.9 per
cent), compared to the like period of last year, when foreign
direct investment stood at 749.9 million euro (1.8 per cent of
GDP). In June 2015 foreign direct investment in the country
grew by 178 million euro, compared with an increase of 127.8
million euro last June.
The largest net direct investment in Bulgaria in the first half
of 2015 came from the Netherlands - 567.3 million euro.
According to preliminary data, direct investment abroad grew by
72.6 million euro in the period between January and June of
2015, compared to an increase of 354.3 million euro in January -
June of 2014. It went up by 34 million euro this June, compared
to an increase of 67.8 million euro in June of 2014.
