President Plevneliev Meets Intelligence Chiefs over Refugee Flow

Sofia, August 28 (BTA) - President Rosen Plevneliev on Friday held a working meeting with Major General Dragomir Dimitrov, head of the National Investigation Service, and State Agency for National Security Chairman Dimiter Georgiev, Plevneliev's press secretariat said. The heads of the intelligence services briefed the President on the current situation with the security environment in view of the intense migrant flows across Southeastern Europe and the possible risks for the country arising from the increased migration pressure in the region.

The President was briefed on steps taken against human smuggling across Bulgaria and Balkan countries.

The intelligence chiefs assured the head of state of the active cooperation with the services of neighbouring countries and countries in the region.
