Sofia Regional Court Rules Custody for  Car Thief

Sofia, August 29 (BTA) - The Sofia Regional Court ruled that
Yaroslav Dimitrov, charged with thefts of cars and motorcycles,
remain in custody.

Dimitrov became famous after he stole a car while under house
arrest, which caused an angry reaction from Prime Minister Boyko
 Borissov.

Dimitrov was released from custody earlier, after Judge Ivan
Koev ruled that he was not the person taped by a CCTV camera
while the car theft was committed in an underground car garage
on August 14. Just four hours after being set free, Dimitrov was
rearrested for concealing three motorcycles on May 27 and 28,
2014. Two  European arrest warrants have also been issued for
the suspect.

His first sentence became enforceable this May and was for
improper use of payment instruments data without the account
holders' consent. This crime was committed back in 2012. Another
sentence, which became enforceable in June, was for grand
theft, committed in 2009.

The custody ruling was in connection with the three stolen
motorcycles. The court found that Dimitrov had lasting criminal
habits which make him a public enemy.

The custody ruling is final and cannot be appealed.
