Prime Minister Borissov Congratulates Syriza Leader Tsipras on Election Victory in Greece

Sofia, September 21 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov congratulated Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras on the victory that his party won in the early parliamentary elections in Greece on September 20, 2013, the Government Information Service said late Monday evening.

"Bulgaria and Greece and friendly and partner States, and their cooperation has a strategic dimension. I am convinced that in future, too, our two countries will continue to expand their excellent political relations by deepening cooperation and encouraging the economic, energy, infrastructure, cultural and educational contacts between Bulgaria and Greece," the head of government points out.

Further on, he raises the issue about the future gas interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece. "During our latest telephone conversation we confirmed in particular that the gas connectivity between the two countries and the need of its accelerated development remains an important element of bilateral relations and a priority part of the future EU Energy Union. We hope that a stable government will be formed as soon as possible, so as to carry out successful economic and financial reforms ensuring the stability and prosperity of friendly Greece. Please accept my most cordial wishes for success in your future work," reads the cable sent by Borissov to Tsipras.
