Deputy PM Kalfin to Present Migrant Integration Policies at  BTA's World Meeting of Bulgarian Media

Sofia, October 30 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister Ivailo Kalfin will participate in the 11th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Athens. The November 4-8 forum will bring together 35 representatives of Bulgarian newspapers, magazines, news and information websites, radio and television outlets in 20 countries and journalists of the most influential national media.

At the third panel on November 6, Kalfin, who is also Labour and Social Policy Minister, will discuss the migrant problem in the Balkans. He will set forth the planned integration measures, including access to training and retraining, employment, social integration and social assistance.

Kalfin will highlight the role of the media in building and maintaining Balkan dialogue in the context of the challenges arising from the refugee wave in Eastern Europe.

Data of the Labour and Social Policy Ministry show that some 120,000 Bulgarians were working in Greece as at July 2015. Their number reaches about 200,000 at the peak of the summer.

All World Meetings of Bulgarian Media are organized by the Bulgarian News Agency and the Association of Bulgarian Media Abroad.

This year's edition is entitled "Media and Cultural Differences. Dialogue between Neighbours". The forum will open at the National University of Athens on November 5 and will hold its panels at the Titania Hotel until November 7.
