President Plevneliev Congratuates Newly Elected Mayors, Urges Them to Take to Work

Sofia, November 3 (BTA) - President Rosen Plevneliev congratulated Tuesday all newly elected mayors for winning the confidence of voters. The elections are over and so is the campaign rhetoric. All newly elected mayors have made commitments and it is important that they start working to deliver from their first day at work, he said.


In 2015, Bulgaria is a different country. It is a member of the EU and European solidarity opens up incomparably bigger opportunities to the local authorities. It no longer matters what party ticket sent you to power: whether you are with the government parties or with the opposition, said the President.

He went on to call upon the mayors to be pro-active and use any opportunity they have to improve the life of their fellow citizens.

The President says that mayors have a huge role for winning over or wasting the confidence of people in the state institutions and politicians.
