Parliament Leader Tsacheva Meets with Liechtenstein Landtag President Albert Frick

Sofia, February 10 (BTA) - Parliament Chairperson Tsetska Tsacheva and Liechtenstein Landtag President Albert Frick Wednesday discussed the development of bilateral cooperation. This is the first visit by a Liechtenstein Landtag leader to Bulgaria.

As bilateral contacts between representatives of various institutions of Bulgaria and Liechtenstein are stepped up, new opportunities open for deeper relations and increased trade, Tsacheva said.

She recalled that Liechtenstein's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture, Aurelia Frick, visited Bulgaria last November, and that in early March Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski will visit Liechtenstein where a bilateral business forum will be held.

Tsacheva told Frick that after the European Union and Liechtenstein signed an agreement on the automatic exchange of financial account information in late October 2015, the Bulgarian Parliament took Liechtenstein off the list of countries with a preferential tax regime. Negotiations are under way on the signing of a double tax avoidance agreement, said Tsacheva.

For his part, Frick said his country had made a serious effort to be excluded from the list of countries which have a preferential tax regime.

Frick also called for a common EU policy on the migration wave.
