Independent MP Kadiev Heads Steering Committee for Creating New Party

Sofia, March 20 (BTA) - Independent MP Georgi Kadiev was elected Sunday to head a steering committee for the establishment of the Normal State political party. Addressing the founders of the steering committee at a forum at Sofia's National Palace of Culture, Kadiev said that the new party's slogan will be "We Begin Everything from the Start".

The participants in the forum adopted the New State party's constituent declaration and manifesto.

Kadiev outlined the party's goals: restoration of the State and its role in all sectors, particularly those where investments are lacking; support for the prospective private productions through investment funds so as to create a middle class; return of the Bulgarians from abroad. "The main clash in our society at present is not Left-wing vs Right-wing but corrupt vs non-corrupt, honest vs dishonest," the constituent declaration reads.

"A State which ranks last in the EU for economic development, is not a normal State. In 27 years we have turned this State into a territory," Kadiev said. "In the last nine years of our membership in the EU, Europe has not come to Bulgaria and Bulgarians - to the EU. Now we are a country where a group of companies have divided the public procurement contracts among themselves, and corruption is in particularly big amounts. The roots of this evil lie in politics and this is the place from where the solving of this problem can begin," Kadiev said, explaining why he established the New State party. The formation will work towards equality in society.
