Local IMRO Organization Nominates Leader Karakachanov as Presidential Candidate

Rousse, on the Danube, March 29 (BTA) - The local chapter of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (IMRO) has nominated party leader Krassimir Karakachanov to run as presidential candidate in the autumn elections. The nomination was unveiled by Patriotic Front MP and IMRO deputy leader Iskren Vesselinov after a conference of the Rousse chapter on Monday evening.

The nomination will be put forward for consideration by the national IMRO leadership.

Vesselinov said that talks within the Patriotic Front which comprises 11 formations should be stepped up and the Front should come up with a common presidential nominee.

According to Vesselinov, Karakachanov was fit for the job as he had serious background in politics and could serve as a unifier of the nation.

Vesselinov said that the Patriotic Front was open to other formations which share similar ideas.
