Tatyana Doncheva Reelected to Chair Movement 21
Sofia, April 2 (BTA) - Tatyana Doncheva was reelected to chair Movement 21 by a party congress in Sofia Saturday, the party's press office reported. The congress was attended by over 450 delegates. Official guests included French Ambassador to Bulgaria Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, representatives of the embassies of the United States, Britain and Sweden, Bulgarian Socialist Party Chairman Mihail Mikov, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria Deputy Chairman Atanas Atanassov, National Party for Freedom and Dignity Chairman Korman Ismailov, The Voice of the People leader Svetoslav Vitkov and members of other political parties.
Doncheva said Bulgarians live in a pseudo-state, which she believes is a colossal problem. She sees two major problems: "a practical lack of economic policy and a poisoned business climate." "The Bulgarian business community is divided into people close to the government and people remote from the government. The former get public procurement contracts, while the latter are pushed to bankruptcy," Doncheva said.
She vowed that Movement 21 will support any political forces which stand for a real judicial reform. She believes the incumbents do not want a reformed judicial system because they fear it will endanger them.
