Non-Affiliated MP Kadiev Sets Up Party

Sofia, June 12 (BTA) - Independent MP Georgi Kadiev, who is former member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party's leadership, established his own party. The formation, called Normal State, was established during a Sunday meeting at the National Palace of Culture. Kadiev was unanimously elected as Chairman.

According to the adopted statute, Normal State is a progressive, pro-European political party, which upholds the principles of lawfulness, freedom, justice, moral, ecology and prosperity.

In his speech before the founders, Kadiev said that the party will fight corruption, guarantee good healthcare and education. Normal State's goal is to get rid of the oligarchy and local feudalization, he said.

The party will work for the entrepreneurship in Bulgaria, and according to Kadiev, it would be beneficial to provide tax relief to young people under 30, who are creating their own companies.

Normal State will be a patriotic party, not in the sense of "lets beat the gypsies and take away the minorities' rights", but in the sense of continuing the kin, Kadiev said. According to him, at the rate the demographic problem is growing, it is likely that in 30 years' time other peoples will be living in Bulgaria and another language will be spoken.

The new party supports the idea of making big investments in Bulgarians abroad. According to Kadiev, there should be a programme for supporting Bulgarians abroad who decide to move their business back home.

Commenting the foreign policy, Kadiev said that Bulgaria is a small country and its fate is to be a bridge between the big states, and not their confrontation. Bulgarian foreign policy must lead to economic results and cultural interaction, he noted. LN/MY
