Romanian President Iohannis Visits Site of Bulgarian-Romanian Gas Interconnector

Rousse, on the Danube, June 17 (BTA) - Romanian President Klaus Iohannis who paid a visit to Bulgaria on June 15 and 16 visited Thursday the construction site of the Bulgarian-Romanian gas interconnector. Iohannis stressed the importance of the facility for the two neighbouring countries.

Bulgarian Deputy Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov said that the interconnector is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The peak capacity of the facility is 1,500 million cu m of has annually, which Stankov said is about half of Bulgaria's gas consumption in 2015.
