Parliament Re-elects Biser Petkov as National Social Insurance Institute Governor

Sofia, July 29 (BTA) - Parliament re-elected on Friday Biser Petkov to serve a new term as Governor of the National Social Security Institute. He was unanimously supported by 151 MPs. Vessela Karaivanova-Nacheva was re-elected as Petkov's Deputy by 152 MPs.

Petkov and Nacheva, who were the only candidates for the post, were heard on Thursday by the parliamentary labour and social policy committee. The deputies of all parliamentary groups and the attending representatives of employers' and union organizations agreed that both have proven their professionalism and expressed support for their re-election bids.

Petkov was elected for his first term as NSSI's head back in 2011. Nacheva has held the post of NSSI Deputy Governor since 2005.
