PM, Ambassadors Discuss Ongoing Analysis of Prosecution Authority

Sofia, September 13 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the ambassadors of the United Kingdom Emma Hopkins, of Spain Jose Luis Tapia, of Germany Detlef Lingemann and of the Netherlands Thomas van Oorschot, the Cabinet's Press Service said. The ongoing independent analysis of the structural and functional model of Bulgaria prosecution authority topped the agenda of the discussions.

Acting on request of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the European Commission Structural Reform Support Service (SRSS) sent five acting prosecutors to perform an independent analysis of Bulgaria's prosecution authority. The expert are expected to submit a report with conclusions and recommendations by the year's end.

The Government is highly interested in the success of this mission because it is related to the judicial reform in the country, Borissov is quoted as saying.

He assured the ambassadors that the state is making best efforts to fulfill the recommendations of the European Commission's report on Bulgaria's progress under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism.
