Bulgarian Politicians Express Condolences on Death of Former Israeli President Peres

Sofia, September 28 (BTA) - Bulgarian politicians have expressed condolences to Israel and its people in connection with the passing away of former Israeli president Shimon Peres.

President Rosen Plevneliev, who will attend Peres's funeral on September 30, said that Bulgaria had lost a true friend. "The world has lost a preeminent figure: a politician, a humanist, a statesman, who will leave his mark on history," wrote the President.

In a statement published on the website of his ministry Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said: "Today the world lost a prominent statesman who will be remembered for his humane values, his visionary thinking, and his unwavering faith and hope that peace is possible."
