Reformist Bloc, Except for DSB, Will Support Tsacheva in 2nd Round of Presidential Elections - UDF Leader Loukarski

Sofia, November 6 (BTA) - The Reformist Bloc (RB) will support Tsetska Tsacheva in the second round of presidential elections, leader of the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) Bozhidar Loukarski told journalists here on Sunday evening. Loukarski's party is part of the Bloc. He said that he was coming from the RB's Executive Council, which was attended by all leaders of parties from the Bloc and its presidential candidate Traicho Traikov, except for Democrats for Strong Bulgaria's (DSB) leadership.

"We cannot afford to have a red general at the helm of Bulgaria. We will support the European People's Party's candidate, the candidate of the party with which we are in a coalition formula - GERB," Loukarski said. The RB does not believe an alternative to the incumbent government currently exists.

Asked about the future relations with DSB, Loukarski said that this will be decided after the second round of the presidential elections.

Loukarski believes that the Bloc did well in the elections and has managed to keep its absolute number of votes, compared to previous elections. He added that the votes from abroad are still to come, which according to him, will further contribute to the Bloc's overall support.

"We cannot compel our voters to support any of the candidates in the second round," reads a DSB declaration about the first round of the presidential elections. "With their behaviour during the campaign, they further pushed away the Right-wing voters and convinced democrats," the declaration reads.

According to DSB, the results from the election's first round destabilize the country, serve as a premise for a political crisis, restore the Left and an anti-European and fake nationalism. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is personally responsible for this crisis. On numerous occasions and with arrogance, he turned down the helping hand offered by the Right and Centre. By leaning towards Erdogan and Putin, he put at stake Bulgaria's EU and NATO membership. In an insulting for the whole nation way, he delayed GERB's presidential nomination and nominated a candidate who is unacceptable not only for the RB's Right-wing voters, but also for GERB's, reads the declaration.

DSB note that the party is starting to prepare intensively for general elections.
