Reformist Bloc to Return Mandate for Formation of Government

Sofia, December 9 (BTA) - If the right-wing Reformist Bloc is offered a mandate by the President to form a cabinet within the incumbent Parliament on Monday, the mandate will be returned, Reformist Bloc co-floor leader Naiden Zelenogorski told reporters in Parliament on Friday, emerging from a meeting of his parliamentary group.

Zelengorski said that in the apparent absence of a reformist-minded majority in Parliament, snap elections loom large.

"We thank the President for his appreciation of the role of the Reformist Bloc but a decision whether to offer a mandate to another political party after we decline it rests totally with him," Zelenogorski said.
