Disabled Child Benefits to Increase Substantially from January 1, 2017
 
 Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - Under amendments to the Integration of  Persons with Disabilities Act and the Family Allowances for Children  Act, in force as from January 1, 2017, a new type of monthly benefit  will be available for children with permanent disabilities to help their  raising in a family environment and their social inclusion, the Agency  for Social Assistance said.
 
 So far, the monthly supplement for a permanently disabled child was 240  leva. As from next year, the amount of the monthly benefit will be  increased and differentiated depending on the extent of disability or  the degree of reduced working capacity.
 
 For 2017, the parents or adoptive parents of a child with permanent  disabilities will get a monthly allowance ranging from 350 to 930 leva.
 
 The amount of the additional lump-sum allowance for a child with 50 per  cent and over 50 per cent permanent disabilities, paid until the child's  second birthday, remains unchanged. Entitlement of a social integration  supplement is limited to persons with permanent disabilities aged over  18.
