Cash-Carrying Vehicle Robbed in Sofia
Sofia, January 28 (BTA) - A cash-carrying vehicle was robbed on Tsarigradsko Chaussee Blvd in Sofia on Friday evening, the Interior Ministry reported. According to unofficial information, the robbers took away 300,000 leva, but strangely, they left a large amount of cash in the vehicle.
The crime was committed after the vehicle pulled over and one of the two security guards in it got off to collect the turnover of a shop. The other guard was alone in the vehicle when two masked persons came up and forced him to drive to the Poligona neighbourhood. Then they tied the man to a seat, took one of the cash bags, and escaped.
No one was injured during the incident. The police found serious flaws in the work of the cash-carrying service company which facilitated the heist. The robbers took advantage of the negligence of the company's employees.
