Chess Kings Exhibition

Sofia, April 7 - On March 22, 2017 in the Forum Art Gallery in Haskovo was the artist Roman Gumanyuk's exhibition entitled "Chess Kings".

The selection includes 22 paintings and miniatures by artist. Portraits of the legendary Alexander Alekhine and Jos? Ra?l Capablanca were in the center of the exhibition "Chess Kings". The artist recreated them during the 11th game of the famous match for the world title in 1927 that lasted two months and a
half, won by Alekhine. A feature of this combination of two pictures is that they can be displayed separately and as portraits of the two chess idols. However, they give an overall picture of the tension of the game.

The event was organized by the Mayor of the City - Dobri Belivanov, who is also the president of the Bulgarian Chess Union 1931. The honorary guest of the exhibition was the famous grandmaster Ventzislav Inkiov, who on that day held a simultaneous game on 22 boards.

Roman Gumanyuk was born in 1985. The artist works in various genres and techniques. Till now there are 27 solo exhibitions. His works are presented in museums and galleries of Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, France, USA, Italy. The author is a member of the VI Biennale of Contemporary Art in
 Florence.
