Georgi Kostov Is Appointed Customs Agency Chief

Sofia, May 10 (BTA) - The cabinet on Wednesday appointed former Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov head of the Customs Agency. By the same decision, Galya Dimitrova became the first woman to head the National Revenue Agency and NRA Director Boyko Atanassov was appointed deputy finance minister.

Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov told journalists that Atanassov was nominated as a deputy finance minister by the United Patriots, the junior partner in the government coalition.

Goranov also said the incumbent chief of the Customs Agency Rozalia Dimitrova has decided to step down and return to her former position within the agency.

He said that Kostov's extensive experience in the police will help to stem tax fraud.
