Socialists Want to Use Mount Bouzloudja Memorial for 10 Years

Sofia, June 24 (BTA) - The National Council of the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) decided that the party will ask for the right to use the Mount Bouzloudja Memorial for 10 years, BSP Chair Kornelia Ninova told a news conference on Saturday after a party plenum earlier in the day.

According to Ninova, the law provides for three options: renting, auctioning, or a 10-year right of use. The National Council decided to go for the last of these options. Ninova said: "We will continue our talks with the team which is functioning under the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, because there are many details that need sorting out."

The Socialist leader also confirmed that her party is working on a project for a television channel, and said that the concept will likely be clear by October.

She said the television channel project and the plans for the Mount Bouzloudja Memorial should not be viewed in opposition to each other. "We can work on both projects and we are optimistic that we will cope with both," she said.
