site.btaBorissov Talks with Romanian Counterpart Tudose

Sofia, July 17 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called Romania's Prime Minister Mihai Tudose to congratulate him on his election, the government information service said on Monday. The two government leaders discussed possible ways of cooperation under the EU's strategies for the Danube Region and the Black Sea, which are high on the agenda of Bulgaria EU Council Presidency.

Borissov and Tudose concurred they would continue working for the implementation of projects of shared interest. The border checkpoint between Kainardja (Bulgaria) and Lipnita (Romania), which is not operating although its infrastructure has been built, also featured in the conversation. Tudose promised to have the matter checked out and solved.

The prime ministers agreed that the two governments would hold a joint meeting in September.

Borissov detailed Tudose on the results of the Western Balkan Summit of the Berlin Process in Trieste and on his meetings with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Thessaloniki.
