Bansko, Southwestern Bulgaria, December 16 (BTA) - The new skiing season was launched in Bansko on Saturday with amusement races and games, music, dance and merrymaking at the heart of the ski area. The hosts wished a successful season and lots of snow to all winter-sport and mountain fans.

Kristian Ghedina of Italy, one of the best specialists in the speed disciplines who competed in five winter Olympic games and won medals in three world championships, and five-time World Cup overall champion Marc Girardelli were guests of honour at the opening of the season this year.
