site.btaHealth Ministry and Sofia Municipality Sign Cooperation Memorandum

Caretaker Health Minister Mihail Okoliyski and Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev have signed a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen coordination between the Ministry of Health and Sofia Municipality in the healthcare sector. The agreement, signed at the municipal administration building here on Tuesday, sets a framework for partnership, modernization, and efficiency improvements in the healthcare system, including municipal hospitals. 

Okoliyski highlighted that the memorandum coincides with World Health Day and represents a commitment to prevention, access to quality care, and shared responsibility. Mayor Terziev emphasized Sofia’s role as a major healthcare provider and proposed measures to improve coordination, including dedicated municipal funding identifiers, electronic reporting, and real-time access to data for evidence-based planning. 

Both officials stressed that the collaboration aims to ensure sustainable, high-quality healthcare for Sofia residents and enhance overall public health outcomes.
