Sofia, April 17 (BTA) - Rousse (on the Danube) will host an informal meeting of the presidents of Bulgaria, Austria and Romania on May 4, the Bulgarian head of State's press secretariat said Tuesday. The meeting will take place at the invitation of President Rumen Radev.

The three presidents will discuss key topics on the European agenda, which are also among the priorities of the Bulgarian EU Presidency. Austria and Romania are the next EU Member States to hold the rotating presidency of the EU Council.

The meeting in Rousse is an expression of the three Member States' political will to ensure the consistency of key common positions on the EU agenda, such as the EU perspective of the Western Balkans, the future of the cohesion policy, and the energy and transport connectivity in the region.

Rousse has been chosen as host city because one of the meeting's main topics is the development of the Danube Region, which has big significance for connectivity and the increase of the EU's economic growth.
