15th Festival Italiano in Bulgaria:

Sofia, May 3 (BTA) - Italian restaurants, ice cream cafes and pizza restaurants will be part of the 15th Festival Italiano in Bulgaria, traditionally held in May and June. More than 30 art and business events are scheduled, Ambassador Stefano Baldi told a news conference on Thursday.
A workshop on "Italian Restaurants around the World: Ambassadors of Taste and Tourist Drawing Cards to Italy in 2018 - the Year of Italian Food".
Ambassador Baldi said the events come under the concept of Italian-style living. The Embassy, the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and Confindustria Bulgaria are the organizers of the festival.
This year's edition, which coincides with the final weeks of the Bulgarian EU Council Presidency, blends music, films, literature, fashion, sports, industry and innovation in technology. The events will take place in Sofia, Plovdiv (which will be a European Capital of Culture in 2019 along with Matera), Veliko Turnovo, Turgovishte and Varna.
Three exhibitions will be open for the duration of the festival. From May 15, "Bernini and the Roman Baroque" will be on at the National Art Gallery at the Palace. The exhibits were made available by The Palazzo Chigi of Ariccia. An exhibition entitled "Greetings from Italy and Bulgaria", which displays postcards, colour photos, coins and stamps, and another one - on the symbolism of the three colours of the national flags of Italy and Bulgaria - are already open to visitors, said Luigina Peddi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute.
Italian performances will participate in several theatre festivals, including the Black Box Festival of Plovdiv, Varna Summer and the Sofia Science Festival. Verdi's "La forza del destino", a production of Teatro Regio di Parma, will be screened at the National Academy of Music. The Italian WonderBrass quintet will give a concert at the Bulgaria Hall. The 3rd Festival of the Italian Cinema, with screenings in Sofia and Varna, and Tiziano Popoli's "Rimusicazioni" concert at Plovdiv's Ancient Theatre, are just some of the numerous cultural events.
The world tour of a project entitled "Italy in 10 Selfies: competitiveness, drivers of quality (ambience, design, culture) and made in Italy certificates" will start from Bulgaria.
The second exhibition of the Italian style in eyewear will take place at the Central Military Club.
Webit Festival Europe 2018 at Sofia Tech Park will feature a collective presentation of eight Italian startups. PK/DD
