Sofia, May 23 (BTA) - Bulgaria pursues a balanced foreign policy and maintains good and friendly relations with all countries, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday. Borissov said that "the whole world" admitted that the recent summit meetings in Sofia were very successful.

Borissov gave as an example how the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia, Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic, shook hands in Sofia during the EU-Western Balkans summit last week, whereas "in Skopje they refused to greet each other". "For Bulgaria both countries are equally friendly," the Prime Minister said.

He also noted the joint news conference in Sofia of the prime ministers of Greece and Macedonia, saying that Bulgaria has friendly relations with both countries.

Borissov said it was "a good thing" that President Rumen Radev paid a visit to Russia, because Bulgaria pursues a balanced policy. For the same reason, Borissov will pay a visit to Ukraine "because good relations need to be maintained with Ukraine, as well as with Russia".

The Prime Minister said that on May 22 he had a meeting with US Attorney General Jeff Sessions and that "the first and primary goal" that is going to be made by the entire European Council will be the lifting of the US visa regulations. "Let us accept that all institutions, the Presidency, the government are doing things that are to the benefit of the Bulgaria," Borissov said.

The Prime Minister said that "the Russians, the Americans, the Turks - as key geo-strategic players in addition to Europe, are welcome on the Balkans to be used as a bridge of friendship".
