Sofia, November 19 (BTA) - Bulgaria's current and capital account recorded a surplus of 369.9 million euro in September 2018, compared with a surplus of 585.9 million euro in September 2017, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on Monday. In January-September 2018 the current and capital account was positive amounting to 2,559.3 million euro (4.8 per cent of GDP), compared with a surplus of 3,935.7 million euro (7.6 per cent of GDP) in January-September 2017.

The current account was positive amounting to 312.7 million euro in September 2018, compared with a surplus of 568.9 million euro in September 2017. In January-September 2018 the current account was positive and amounted to 2,116.1 million euro (4 per cent of GDP), compared with a surplus of 3,597.4 million euro (7 per cent of GDP) in January-September 2017.

The balance on goods recorded a deficit of 80.5 million euro in September 2018, compared with a deficit of 143.3 million euro in September 2017. In January-September 2018 the balance on goods was negative amounting to 2,030.4 million euro (3.8 per cent of GDP), compared with a deficit of 194.3 million euro (0.4 per cent of GDP) in January-September 2017.

Exports of goods amounted to 2,419.3 million euro in September 2018, growing by 62 million euro (2.6 per cent) from September 2017. In January-September 2018 exports of goods totalled 19,747 million euro (37.4 per cent of GDP), dropping by 170.9 million euro (0.9 per cent) year-on-year.

Imports of goods amounted to 2,499.8 million euro in September 2018, growing by 285.9 million euro (12.9 per cent) from September 2017. In January-September 2018 imports of goods totalled 21,777.4 million euro (41.3 per cent of GDP), growing by 1,665.2 million euro (8.3 per cent) from January-September 2017.
