New Trade Secret
Protection Act Passes
Conclusively
Sofia, March 21 (BTA) - The National Assembly adopted a new Trade Secret Protection Act on second reading on Thursday. The law is aimed to provide legal protection for intellectual products, commercial and research information and innovative know-how.
It defines a trade secret as any commercial information, know-how or technological information which is secret, in the sense that it is not - in its entirety or in the precise configuration and combination of the elements thereof - generally known or easily accessible to those who normally use this type of information.
The law transposes the requirements of the EU Trade Secrets Directive into national legislation. It specifies when the acquisition of a trade secret is lawful or unlawful, and prescribes measures to protect trade secrets through a court procedure. IG/VE
