March 28 (BTA) - Daniela Daritkova becomes the floor leader of the GERB ruling party after Tsvetan Tsvetanov resigned from the post and quit Parliament on Wednesday amid a scandal over purchase of allegedly underpriced property. Daritkova's appointment was announced by Prime Minister and GERB leader
Boyko Borissov after a meeting with representatives of the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) on Thursday morning concerning the shared ticket between the two formations for the May 26 European Parliament elections.

So far Daritkova headed the parliamentary Health Committee. Commenting Tsvetanov's resignation, Borissov said that "heavy sanctions have been imposed in GERB which no party has experienced". "We all learned a lesson, and the sanctions demonstrate what mine is," he said, adding that GERB suffered a very hard blow.

Borissov said that GERB once again showed that when there is a problem, the party bears responsibility.

Tsvetanov's resignation will be voted by Parliament on Friday.

At the meeting between Borissov and the UDF representatives it transpired that UDF's nomination for a runner in the European Parliament elections is Alexander Yordanov, who will be placed sixth in the list of candidates.

The decision for the shared ticket between the two formations was agreed by Borissov and UDF leader Roumen Hristov last week. Borissov promised Hristov that the UDF will have two candidates in the list, one of whom at a position that guarantees election.
