site.btaGERB's European Election Campaign Slogan Is "Europe Hears Us"

Sofia, April 7 (BTA) - The European election campaign slogan of Bulgaria's ruling GERB party is "Europe Hears Us." The news was unveiled by Sofia Municipal Council Chair Elen Gerdjikov during a press conference at GERB headquarters in Sofia Sunday.

Gerdjikov said the slogan shows the direction in which Bulgaria ought to develop. He expressed hope that the Bulgarians see and appreciate what GERB has accomplished. He said: "Europe is solidary, it helps us, but it gives nothing for free. Every project must be implemented according to the strict criteria of the EU institutions, which calls for a lot of work from the government."

GERB Deputy Chair and campaign leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov vowed that the party will struggle for a united and strong Europe and will fit into the new European order. Tsvetanov reviewed the party's accomplishments as a ruling force. He stressed the achievements of Mariya Gabriel in her capacity as the Bulgarian EU Commissioner. Gabriel tops the GERB list of candidates to the European Parliament.

GERB will make public its campaign platform next Sunday, Tsvetanov said. MY/VE
