Bulgarian Ethnic Model

Bozhourka Village, Northeast Bulgaria, July 14 (BTA) - "We are obliged to put into action the Bulgarian ethnic model, so that we can give the Balkans and Europe a good example, " said Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Moustafa Karadayi, who visited a traditional gathering in the Baba Kondu area near the village on Sunday. Dozens of locals and people from across the country came together to thank nature for its gifts and pray for health.

"People come to this place every year, regardless of ethnicity or religion, in search of a cure. This is a holiday of the spirit, this is where the soul celebrates," Karadayi said in his address. According to him, this place sends the best message of tolerance and unity in times of confrontation and division.

The Mayor of the nearby town of Turgovishte, Darin Dimitrov, recalled that the Baba Kondu site gathers both Muslims and Christians each year, because they have common hopes. "Do not trust those who build walls, trust those who build bridges," he said.

The gathering included a musical programme, horse races and traditional wrestlting matches. LI/MY
