September 20 (BTA) - Prosecutor General Sotir
Tsatsarov and Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev met with
Eurojust President Ladislav Hamran here on Thursday, the
prosecution service said.
The agenda of the meeting was topped by cooperation in the fight
against organized crime and corruption, counter terrorism,
human trafficking and illegal migration. Attending the meeting
were Ivanka Kotorova, head of the Bulgarian National Desk at
Eurojust and Tsvetomir Yosifov, head of the international
department with the Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office.
The sides noted the excellent cooperation between Bulgaria and
Eurojust, quoting a number of successful operations against
illegal migration, terror financing, tax fraud, cross-border
phone scams and against child pornography.
The meeting discussed the work of the Bulgarian National Desk at
Eurojust, which Hamran commended highly. In 2018, the Bulgarian
National Desk at Eurojust worked on 454 international cases
which places the country sixth in respect of the volume of work
among EU countries after Italy, Germany, France, Austria and
