October 2 (BTA) - Bulgaria's electricity production
between January 1 and September 29, 2019 has decreased by 1.82
per cent, compared to the like period of 2018, the Electricity
System Operator (ESO) reported here on Wednesday. According to
ESO's latest data, a total of 32,791,421 MWh of electricity were
 produced between January 1 and September 29 of this year,
compared to 33,400,886 MWh produced in the same period of 2018.

Electricity consumption between January 1 and September 28 of
2019 has increased by 1.34 percentage points compared to the
like period of 2018. According to ESO's data, a total of
28,291,852 MWh of electricity were consumed between January 1
and September 29 of this year, compared to 27,916,882 MWh during
 the same period of last year.

Bulgaria has exported 17.95 per cent less electricity between
January 1, 2019 and September 29, 2019, year-on-year. A total of
 4,449,569 MWh of electricity have been exported in the
above-mentioned period of this year, compared to 5,484,004 MWh
in the same period of last year.

The base-load power plants (the Kozloduy nuclear power plant,
and the thermo-electric plants Maritsa East 2, AES Gulubovo and
ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3) have increased electricity
production by 2.85 per cent - from 26,978,673 MWh between
January 1 and September 29, 2018 up to 27,748,673 MWh in the
same period of this year.

Electricity produced from Renewable Energy Sources has decreased
 by 0.61 percentage points between January 1 and September 29,
2019, year-on-year - from 917,341 MWh in 2018 to 911,785 MWh in
the above-mentioned period of this year.

Wind turbines generated 487,953 MWh of electricity between
January 1 and September 29 of this year, compared to 502,154 MWh
 during the like period of 2018, which is 2.83 per cent less
year-on-year.

Photovoltaic facilities have produced 320,094 MWh of electricity
 between January 1 and September 29, which is 2.93 per cent more
 year-on-year.

Electricity produced by biomass-fuelled power facilities between
 January 1 and September 29 was 103,738 MWh, which is 0.46
percentage points less year-on-year. RY/MY
