President Radev
Confers with German Counterpart,
Belgian Prime Minister

Warsaw/Sofia, September 1 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rumen Radev Sunday conferred with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, Radev's press secretariat said.

Radev and Michel discussed topics from the EU agenda, in particular changing the mechanism for joint decision making in the EU to allow for a faster EU response in international relations.

The talks were held before the official ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.

Speaking to Bulgarian reporters after the ceremony, Radev said that keeping the memory about the atrocities of World War II is a must at the background of the current fierce contention for world leadership.

On Sunday Radev paid a working visit to Poland to take part in the WW II commemorations. //
