site.bta5,252 PCR Tests Confirm 135 COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 14,500
Sofia, August 18 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 14,500 after 135 infections were confirmed
in the 24 hours until Monday midnight through 5,252 PCR tests,
according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg. The active cases
are 4,546.
Currently, the hospitalized patients number 768, including 56 in
intensive care. The total number of infected medical staff is
803, six more than the previous day.
Recoveries in the last 24 hours number 256, bringing the total
to 9,442.
Fourteen more fatalities were reported, bringing the total death
toll to 512.
Sofia City tops the list with 25 newly confirmed cases, followed
by Plovdiv with 14 and Varna and Blagoevgrad with 13 each.
A total of 339,563 PCR tests have been performed since the first
cases were diagnosed on March 8.
