August 24 (BTA) - According to preliminary data for the second quarter of 2020 released by the National Statistical Institute on Monday, most activities in the 'Other business services' sector saw a drop in turnover compared to the like period of 2019, with the most significant decrease having been registered in 'Travel agency, tour operator and other reservation service and related activities', by 94.6 per cent. The biggest increase in this sector was observed in 'Office administrative, office support and other business support activities', by 8 per cent.

Compared to the first quarter of 2020, the turnover in 'Travel agency, tour operator and other reservation service and related activities' dropped by 71.2 per cent. The second most significant decrease in the 'Other business services' sector was registered in 'Advertising and market research', by 30.9 per cent.

Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the total turnover index in the 'Transportation, storage and postТ sector, calculated on the basis of working day adjusted data, decreased by 18.5 per cent. The most significant decline was registered in 'Air transport', by 64.1 per cent, and in 'Water transport', by 42.8 per cent. An increase was reported only in 'Postal and courier activities', by 21.6 per cent.

Compared to the first quarter of 2020, the total turnover index in the 'Transportation, storage and post' sector, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, decreased by 21.8 per cent. The biggest drop was observed in 'Air transport', by 66.4 per cent. An increase was registered only in 'Postal and courier activities', by 8.6 per cent.

Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the total turnover index in the 'Information and Communication' sector, calculated on the basis of working day adjusted data, grew by 3.9 per cent. The biggest increase was observed in 'Information service activities' and in 'Telecommunications', by 12.2 per cent and 11.8 per cent, respectively. The 'Motion picture, video and TV programme production, music publishing activities' saw the most significant decrease, by 52 per cent.

Compared to the first quarter of 2020, the total turnover index in the 'Information and Communication' sector dropped by 4.4 per cent. The biggest decline was registered in 'Motion picture, video and TV programme production, music publishing activities', by 51.1 per cent. An increase was reported in 'Information service activities' and in 'Telecommunications', by 4.6 per cent and 2.9 per cent, respectively.
